Our DD Waiver Program Services
The DD Supportive In-Home services is designed to provide needed in-home services to persons with developmental disabilities to complete ADL tasks independently, thus making it possible for clients to remain in their homes for a greater period of time.
Our goal is to establish a basic knowledge with which R.A. Quarshie Healthcare’s DSP employees can direct their efforts in a manner that will provide the highest quality service to Individuals and advance the Individual.
What is the DD Waiver Program?
The Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver serves individuals of any age with a developmental disability. The new DD Waiver Program also covers children from birth through 9 years of age with a substantial developmental delay or specific congenital or acquired condition.community-based setting.
The Family & Individual supports (FIS) Waiver (Formerly the DD Waiver) is for individuals living with their families, friends, or in their own homes. This includes those that need some medical or behavioral needs. This waiver is for both children and adults.

The supportive in-home services includes:
- Assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, and use of community resources (toileting, bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating, mobility, communication, household chores, food preparation, money management, shopping, etc.).
- Training in functional skills related to use of community resources (transportation, shopping, restaurants, social and recreational activities, etc.)
- Training in adapting behavior for home and community environments.
- Monitoring health and physical condition, assistance with medication and/or other medical needs, coordination of medical care and providing transportation to and from healthcare appointments.
- Assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, and use of community resources.
- Individuals are supported consistent with strengths and needs based upon their desires.
- Assistance with transportation to and from training sites and community resources.
- Specialized supervision to ensure individuals’ health and safety.
- The Individualized Service Plan must clearly document the individuals need for specialized supervision. This may include the necessity for overnight staff if there is a history that indicates an individual gets up and needs supervision or assistance.
- Individuals receive help with personal care, ongoing health monitoring, pharmaceutical services medication administration, social work services, independent living skills training, dietary services, transportation and core services.
- Individuals receive care/treatment/training in: activities of daily living (ADL’S), money budget management education, money saving plan, grooming.
